After lunch at the Cliff House in San Fran. Such a windy day today! Glad I got to see these two before they headed back to Napa.

This part of Santa Clara was nice.
Santa Cruz pit stop.
while we were at pescadero state beach two saturdays ago, we were joined by a group of european tourists, one of which took a swim in the chilly water in his fashionable speedo. next to them was a flock of birds near the surf. both ensembles complimented each other very well! this just makes me so happy.
The part of California that I absolutely fell in love with the most, out of all the areas I’ve been to, was along Route 1. (The section of the Sierra Nevada we drove through over the summer is second.) That strip between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay where it’s just state beaches along the coast and on the other side of the road it’s just hills of farmland with no life except a few cows here and there, that would be an amazing place to live. Just to own a tiny piece of farmland, build a “tiny house,” buy a cow, chicken and a goat, grow a veggie garden, get my family to live on the lot next door of course, and set up shop. Just hop over the street to swim, even though the surf may kill me. To be undisturbed on the Pacific Ocean would be glorious. In NH we only have 18 miles of coast, 18 wonderful miles that I love, but in California, come on, I couldn’t believe that strip of coast could exist, so peaceful, serene, isolated. But let’s be real, I don’t want to leave NH, it’s my dream state, my life, my home.

No face, no pants. Pescadero State Beach.

The ocean is a beautiful thing.
About to hit the water..
Yep, nothing but good things.
We came across a lighthouse. I have nothing but good things to say about this part of route 1, but that’ll come later!

What the what?! Amazing. I am in love with this place on coastal rt 1.
View from the Zen Garden!
Also my sister is currently down in San Diego and I miss her the most and wish she would come back to Palo Alto already so we can experience life together.
Hayes took this photo while we were at the beach at sunset this evening. He used his iphone panoramic app and I love it. (I also loved how he spun in a circle, snapping a photo at each step to capture this entire moment. Adorable.)

Today’s outfit brought to you by the Pacific ocean, sunset, $4 flower shorts, the beach, me dying to swim, an owl brooch and surfers.
