currently painting the porch and weeding with maura & truman burbank! such a nice break in the rainy weather.

house pictorial: our living room! it’s a mish-mash of sorts. this giant room was once two small rooms when the house was built in 1918, the previous owners took down the middle wall, now it’s one long, awkward space, but we divided it into a sitting area/tv area- hayes traded this small tv with our 55inch, but they will be switched back! we ripped out the rugs last summer, but haven’t gotten around to finishing the original hardwood floors, all in due time. it took me a while to actually decorate this room cos with roommates i wanted to be as neutral as possible, like aside from our wedding family tree guest book on the wall, we don’t have any personal photos in this room, cos it belongs to all those that live here!

received the most adorable little scenery paintings from mum! (how old are we that we still have posters on the wall? they go with the theme yeah, but if we’re gonna keep ‘em let’s frame them.)

the bathtub has been redone for 2011! this is the first time living here, in four and a half years, that i can take an actual bath! i mean, obviously i could have taken one before, but i feet super weird hanging out naked in a box where who knows how many other people have been, even if it’s been cleaned with the strongest chemicals multiple times (that’s why i don’t like pools- even though being naked isn’t associated with that, usually) but when we have three-six new roommates every nine months, for all those years, it just makes me feel ick. and another round of roomies are moving in this weekend, so this will be my only chance and i am going to enjoy it!
