i've gone to look for america.
It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw.
my little brother helped me test out my new phone today. the action shots need a little work if we want to keep limbs attached…
last night was spent in portsmouth, my brother wanted to get his first tattoo, so hayes & i took him to see jeremiah at iron works tattoo. his came out amazing, he drew it up himself- simple, but totally him.
& i got my first tattoo (anchor/swallow) redone and added a ships wheel backdrop to it. my first tattoo was done a few years ago by a sweet gal i went to high school with, and i did it to help her learn how to tattoo.. meaning it was free, with tip of course- always tip no matter what the occasion. i never had a problem with my tattoo, like it wasn’t awful but it wasn’t all that great, (see bottom left photo taken unknowingly, by our friend dan in new bedford, ma last summer!) i just wanted to help her get learning experience in! so when i met jeremiah, i knew he would be the one to fix me up, and man did he ever. i love it so much! (neither photo oh my before and after are true to color, the real thing is a combo of the light and dark shades.)
& hayes was there for moral support of course- i don’t do well with pain…

kinda jealous my little brother & his bff are back-country snowboarding the Mt. Kearsarge powerlines in short-sleeves today..not jealous they have to hike all the way to the top to board down- i’d never have the stamina for that, but it sure is pretty! lucky for me i’ll be skiing loon & bolton valley in a week!
eleanor zissou does this thing where she’ll jump onto your back if you crouch down to say hi to her, or if you’re just tying your shoe, or picking something up off the ground. it’s funny when it happens to other people, but 15lbs with nails digging into your neck can be uncomfortable! strange dog.
we (the fam) tagged our blue spruce christmas tree today! in december we’ll cut it down along with our second christmas tree for the kitchen which is currently growing in our backyard!
my little brother got his girlfriend a bouquet of flowers cos she was having a bad week. aww. he was not happy i wanted to take a photo of him though…
little brother got a mountain bike for when he goes to colorado for school. mum wanted one too so she picked out a pale blue bike- i can’t wait to steal a ride!
we climbed up to the water tower on pawtuckaway mountain for the sunset this evening. you can see the ocean & all the way to boston. i love new hampshire.

my brother wants to go to school to design snowboards, he is a huge fan of mr. burton and this is what he accomplished today. he makes me so proud! good luck kiddo :)
well to clarify, he will be going to school to design snowboards in colorado!

my little brother is moving in with us in september to attend the local college to get his gen-eds out of the way before he moves off to colorado for school. we’re trying to make his room & time living here feel as much like a college dorm experience as possible. like we’re stalking the shelves with ramen, he’s sleeping in a twin bed, has a shower caddy, library in the living room, and we’re thinking of what door decal to put on his room door like the RA’s did/do for their residents. Leigh made owls for her kids, we’re thinking of a maple leaf for a fall theme. any suggestions on how to create a college feel for him?
Burton Snowboards summer tent sale, at their headquarters in Burlington, Vermont. 75% all their inventory from this past season. Our family of six spent $700, saved $2,000! Even with christmas gifts thrown in for significant others. Little brother got a snowboard/bindings for $100 also. I love this sale! (it’s going on til 5pm tomorrow if you’re in the area!)
