& just a few more snip-its from the san fransisco business trip.
while we were at pescadero state beach two saturdays ago, we were joined by a group of european tourists, one of which took a swim in the chilly water in his fashionable speedo. next to them was a flock of birds near the surf. both ensembles complimented each other very well! this just makes me so happy.
the many feet photos of california. leopard print tights in the sand of carmel beach. toes on the beach. toes in the pacific ocean. floral shorts at sunset. lombard street with hayes. tiny footprints compared in the sand.
so, i got a raise today. here’s a photo from last thursday- sunset on the pacific!
The part of California that I absolutely fell in love with the most, out of all the areas I’ve been to, was along Route 1. (The section of the Sierra Nevada we drove through over the summer is second.) That strip between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay where it’s just state beaches along the coast and on the other side of the road it’s just hills of farmland with no life except a few cows here and there, that would be an amazing place to live. Just to own a tiny piece of farmland, build a “tiny house,” buy a cow, chicken and a goat, grow a veggie garden, get my family to live on the lot next door of course, and set up shop. Just hop over the street to swim, even though the surf may kill me. To be undisturbed on the Pacific Ocean would be glorious. In NH we only have 18 miles of coast, 18 wonderful miles that I love, but in California, come on, I couldn’t believe that strip of coast could exist, so peaceful, serene, isolated. But let’s be real, I don’t want to leave NH, it’s my dream state, my life, my home.
a little bit from our time in napa.
getting ready to pose with the sign. hayes on the rails, so happy napa had a railroad. in front of beringer’s mansion. wine tasting at peju with an amazing host, however i was about ready to pass out at this point, my body was in a funk, that’s why i look so pleasant. but all in all, a good day in the valley!
big old tree next to the beach in carmel, california.
i took so many photos in california this week, only a fraction of which i posted immediately, so bear with me as i post the rest! this was our dinner on the san fransisco bay friday night. clams, linguini, white wine sauce. roasted oysters with mango salsa and caviar. pineapple/carrot cake. and sugared donut holes with raspberry and milk/white chocolate dipping sauce. what even? yum.

Home again, in our comfy bed, with truman burbank, a hot cup of tea, catching up on SNL and the warm winter sun shining on my face through the window.
Happy to have traveled, but happy to be home.
Hey San Fransisco, thanks for showing us a good time.
This evening’s sunset from the valley near San Fransisco. The other side of that large hill is the Pacific Ocean. It’s been a good six days.
Poolside at sunset. Watching the Patriots game with take out before flying back to NH tonight!

No face, no pants. Pescadero State Beach.

The ocean is a beautiful thing.
About to hit the water..
