“Blood Song” -Anthony Green
My phone focused on that pretty pole instead of the faces on stage, but the point is we had a glorious time! He played a beautiful version of our wedding song (i love that hayes & i chose a song by an artist we can actually see live) & he ended with “devil song” which was a true sing-along. I’m so glad we got to have a nice night out in the city, even though I’ll be right back here for a work meeting in the morning!
He just opened with “She Loves Me So”
(photo taken of anthony green when we went to see ‘em in boston, may 2007.)
we are heading into boston to hear the lovely sounds of this mans voice again! (with the dear hunter) which is exciting since his song “miracle sun” was our wedding song. aww, mush. (the album version)

Anthony Green- Moon Song
Tonight. Wicked excited.
Anthony Green- How It Goes
so we just picked up this album, anthony green- beautiful things. & i am sad to say that it didn’t pull me in right away as his avalon album did. this record is wicked fun though, a totally folk-y feel, with some crazy aspects and a lot of love. there doesn’t seem to be a flow through theme, instead each song is like its own entity. i especially like that some of his songs sound like edward sharp and the magnetic zeros, or 1960s surf songs, or a reagee/sublime thing, or the shaggs, or an 80’s australian band, or even paul simon when he went through the graceland phase. in the end, i am wicked excited to see him perform tomorrow night! & i’m glad we got his album before we go see him. “my pulse it is gone, rapidly beating the window with my hand”

“well i caught a demon in a mouse trap, one day behind the house. it said please let me free i’ll do anything. we came to an agreement, made an exchange- your freedom for my name”

i caught a demon in a mousetrap
one day behind the house.
it said “please let me free, ill do anything”
so we came to an agreement, made an exchange, “your freedom for my name”
then he began, he began to sing
“devil’s song, no it won’t be too long to finally see the evil you’ve become.”
the devil cries all through the night- i don’t think there’s a reason
devil song it won’t be long- to finally see the evil you’ve become
the devil cries all through the night- this feels like a nightmare.
well i was always told you were a liar and not to trust
but my name still means nothing
and we’re all in the same spot
this feels like a nightmare

anthony green - miracle sun
& our song.
